Guess what? The Devolutions team is growing again! We now have more than 50 team members (54 to be exact) and we plan on adding more amazing team members in the months ahead. Helping IT pros like you is an important job and we want to make sure we have the best people.

And speaking of the best people, I’d like to introduce you to my talented team member David Grandolfo, who is our newest Technical Advisor. I recently had a chat with David, and below is look at our conversation (my questions are in bold):

Can you tell me a bit about your professional background?

About 10 years ago, I started my career in the IT field as an instructor. My students were both new and experienced professionals who wanted to enter or advance their careers as technicians.  After teaching for a couple of years, I worked as a technology consultant, where I helped companies evaluate their IT infrastructure so they could scale and grow. I helped businesses of all sizes, including small businesses, to enterprises with over 1000 employees.  During this time, I was also managing technical implementation, which included supervising installations, performing quality control, ensuring client satisfaction, and so on.

What would you say is your biggest professional achievement so far?

I’d say that my biggest professional achievement isn’t technical, it’s more about establishing a core set of values that is part of everything I do as a professional. These values include being transparent and honest with customers; knowing what my strengths are, and even more important, knowing what my weaknesses are; and making sure that customers and end users are always satisfied, which often requires a team-based approach. Sometimes one technician is more skilled or knowledgeable than another, and it’s important to transfer tasks and responsibilities so that everything is done efficiently and in a way that satisfies customers.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

Over the last 3 years, I implemented Remote Desktop Manager as the CTO of a managed service provider company where I became a huge fan and a power user of RDM. I quickly came to the conclusion that every IT Pros should use RDM and wanted to help Devolutions expand their footprint, and be part of an amazing team.

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

First, I’m conscientious, and I always want to be sure that each customer receives detailed information that completely answers their questions.  Second, I would say that I have strong leadership skills. Third, I’m very focused on making sure that I always focus on customer needs. This is especially important when I’m presenting information to a customer. I want them to be informed and interested, and not falling asleep at their computer!

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools that you use?

My focus is on providing customer support, and I’ll definitely rely on my experience as an IT Manager in this role. I’m also responsible for delivering demonstrations, and helping customers learn about our various products, and help them choose what they need to solve their problems.

What are your impressions about working here?

I’ve only been here a few weeks, but so far everything has been very promising! Everyone here is smart and works hard, and just like me, they are aware of what they’re good at, and what they aren’t so good at. The team spirit is great as well, and everyone works together and supports each other.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

As a member of the Devolutions team, I would like to help our company grow and thrive by providing world-class support and training. The level of customer support here at Devolutions is already outstanding, and I want to bring it to the next level by leveraging my experience as an RDM power user. I want to make sure that our customers get the most relevant information and best support experience – and buy the right product for their needs.

Moreover, I’d like to implement a new training academy in order to help RDMers get the most out of their experience using our solution.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

About two years ago I took up skydiving, and I also love skiing. But the thing I like the most is having fun with my kids. I would love to transform my home into a big indoor playground!

Please share a few words with our community of IT pros.

Everyone at Devolutions is very committed to your success. You can count on me to go out of my way to understand your needs and help you find the products and solutions that are uniquely right for your team and organization.
