We thought it would be fun and interesting to recap some of our conference and trade show experiences in 2019. So here’s where our travels took us:
North Sec – May 2019
We had a great time at North Sec on May 16-17. There were more than 1,500 participants who experienced world-class training, workshops and keynotes on pentesting, network security, software and hardware exploitation, web hacking, reverse engineering, malware cryptography, and more. We also loved the applied security contest (hackathon) where more than 70 teams vied for the honor of capturing the flag. North Sec 2020 is happening on May 14-15, and we’re definitely going back for more insights and fun.

IT Connect – June 2019
IT Connect is an annual conference organized by Champlain College Saint-Lambert. Last year, the conference was held on June 7 and the theme was cybersecurity. Over 200 participants enjoyed keynotes and seminars, along with the opportunity to network with many high-profile organizations. IT Connect has more than doubled in size since it began, and we expect it to be even bigger and better in 2020. The date hasn’t been announced yet, but we can ensure you this is a great event to learn more about cybersecurity.

iTech – June 2019
Our experience at iTech on June 20 was amazing. More than 20,000 attendees gathered at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal. There were many demos and presentations on infrastructure, cloud, security, data center, AI, mobility, and more, and it was a great opportunity to network. This year’s edition is scheduled for June 11, 2020!

GoSec – August 2019
Because we had so much fun at the beautiful Palais des Congrès in Montreal attending iTech, we went back on August 28-29 to attend another conference that we’ve been to many times: GoSec. This is an annual convention that brings together experts in the IT security field from both the private and public sector, and it offers a variety of seminars on themes such as cryptography, cybersecurity, AI, malware, PCI DSS, and more. Every year GoSec gets bigger and bigger — last year more than 400 participants attended — and we’re looking forward to heading back in 2020 (dates to be announced).

SecTor – October 2019
The 2019 edition of SecTor took place on October 21-22 in Toronto. It is the largest IT security conference in Canada, and it’s also home to Expo, the nation’s biggest security vendor, which features 100 of the world’s leading security organizations. It was a great opportunity to learn, build relationships, and even learn how to pick locks and hack IoT devices. The dates for SecTor 2020 haven’t been announced, but you can bet we’ll be there.

Microsoft Ignite – November 2019
Is there a better way to wind down the year than hopping on a plane, heading to sunny Orlando, Florida, and experiencing Microsoft Ignite? From November 4-8, our 16-member team had a blast demonstrating our solutions, meeting amazing people, and learning about the latest trends and insights in the IT world. And to make things even more wonderful, the good people at Microsoft Ignite opened up Universal Studios just for exhibitors! It was an experience that we’ll never forget. Even though it’s down the road, we’re eager to head to New Orleans this year, on September 21-25, for the 2020 edition of Microsoft Ignite!
