Hello everyone,
Today I am pleased to introduce you to our new QA Specialist, Marie-Soleil Wilmotte. Our QA team keeps growing, because we want to ensure the solutions we provide are tested and re-tested many times. Trust us: we hate bugs as much as you do (maybe even more!).
I recently had the chance to chat with Marie-Soleil to learn more about her background and role. Here is a snapshot of our conversation:
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
I have worked in the hospitality industry, and also in administrative roles. During these experiences, I learned a great deal about the importance of quality assurance and planning. Every little detail is so important.
What would you say is your biggest achievement?
My greatest accomplishment, and what I am most proud of, is my amazing daughter. I am a family-first person, and my family is what matters most to me. I am also proud that I had the courage to leave a stable job and return to school after 10 years, in order to develop my skills and find a career path that allowed me to flourish.
What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?
Devolutions is a highly-regarded and dynamic company. There is so much to learn here, and I will never get bored! There is always a new challenge ahead because the IT world keeps growing.
What would you say are your top three strengths at work?
First, I focus on my tasks and always give my best. Second, I try as much as possible to use all the resources at my disposal, including the knowledge and experience of my team members. Third, I like to finish my work and I do not get frustrated or quit when facing an obstacle or challenge.
What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?
As a QA specialist, I look after the quality of our CRM by looking for bugs, trying to reproduce them, and assigning them to be tested.
What is your impression of working here?
I feel privileged to have found a company where my work is valued, and where everyone is respectful and considerate. The team is solid and experienced, and the work environment is very positive.
What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?
I would like to learn and increase my knowledge so that I can contribute as much as possible to my team.
On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?
I love nature, and riding is my passion. I also like taking pictures and going to the woods and rivers with my daughter and dogs. I also like crafts, such as sewing, knitting, and jewelry made of natural stones.
